Why should a college student consider an MLS career?

Hello, welcome to another episode of Medical Laboratory Science in the year 2030. My name is Gary Stocker. Today I'm going to talk about why college students should consider a career in medical laboratory science. And of course, this is the discipline in hospitals mostly and in reference labs where employees have learned how to do cross matches and work in microbiology and virology, chemistry, hematology and many other clinical disciplines. It is meaningful work.
If you are someone who got that Bachelor of Science in Biology or maybe in Chemistry, Microbiology, it's a way to use that education, use that degree to do some meaningful work for others. And in addition, there is an opportunity for career growth. Throughout the course of a Medical Laboratory Science career, there are many opportunities. We can talk about that in a different episode. And one of the big benefits that I have
experience or I have seen with others is they are finishing up that Bachelor of Science in whatever science discipline there is and they don't really know exactly what they want to do with that degree. The MLS career offers you an opportunity either to start right away and there's ways we can talk about doing that or to get a dedicated internship in medical laboratory science that will give you all sorts of options in that career field.
And really what we're talking about here is combining science with helping people. There are many stories I can tell as a former medical laboratory scientist and others as well about how, what we do, what you can do in that career really helps your fellow humankind, your fellow mankind. And as I shared before, there's a lot of career flexibility. I've got a list of hundreds of positions that you could find in medical laboratories.
And then lastly, the big win is you've got that master of science. You're looking for something to do. You're looking for good compensation and that's available in the medical laboratory. You can leverage that degree for a specific career in a specific science discipline in an environment that provides the best in technology, in robotics, in science, in diagnostic medicine and in data technology as well. So if you have some interest, look at the link down below and.
